I wanted to give you all a little background knowledge on myself and my story and why I am doing this. I started out my career many years ago as an elementary school teacher, well before I had a husband and children.
Fast forward to around my 5th year of teaching, I met my now husband, Andy. We dated for about a year and half before getting engaged and then getting married 6 months later in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
While we were dating and first married, we loved to travel together. We traveled out West visiting Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. We visited a few National Parks-The Smokies, Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park. We also visited the beaches of Florida several times including 30A and Key West. We traveled up north into Minnesota and out of the country including places like Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Then we had our first child, our sweet little boy Ben in the summer of 2013. I DID NOT want to go back to work. I just wanted to be home with him, spending those precious moments with each other, but I reluctantly went back to my teaching job just 2 months after I had him. I struggled hard that year, and begged Andy to let me quit after that year to find a job that would allow me to stay home with him more. I was only getting 2 personal days and 10 sick days for the entire school year, which is hard with a new baby.
Andy agreed and I decided I would go back to school to work in physical therapy. I knew I could set my hours, especially doing PRN work. So while I was going to school, to earn extra money, I became a travel agent on the side in 2017. I mainly focused on Disney trips because I was an expert in Disney. I had been going to the parks since I was little with my family and continued that through my adult life as well. I could also book hundreds of other destinations too. This is where my love for travel started to grow even more.
I graduated that same year with my physical therapy degree and start working in a nursing home in the therapy department while still continuing my travel agent business as well.
In 2019, we adopted out beautiful little girl Palmer. We were so blessed in the whole adoption process. We were there for prenatal doctor’s appointments, the birth, and even got to stay overnight in the hospital with her before taking her home.
After getting Palmer, I really wanted to slow down with working so much. I started working part time in physical therapy.
But what I found myself doing more than anything was recommending destinations and vacations to people. I would post my personal trips on my social media outlet and would get hundreds of questions about our trips-wanting itineraries, recommendations, etc. So here we are a couple of years later, I have started my career as an Instagram travel content creator and blogger.
I love the creative outlet that this provides me. I love being able to create reels, tiktoks, photography and videos. I love writing and posting my reviews, tips, and recommendations on the destinations we have traveled to over the years. I love to get inspiration from other influencers and save all kinds of destinations to my bucket list.
I love planning and researching vacations for my family and I to take and I am so happy to share that process with my followers and subscribers in hopes that it inspires you to take a vacation with your loved ones. I hope you will read my blog posts and Instagram posts and be inspired to travel the USA and beyond to some of our favorite destinations with your family, your partner or friends.
