Heading to the Masters this year and needing help on what to wear? Don’t worry I’ve got you covered. Here is a full guide on what to wear to the Masters.
The Masters is the most prestigious tournament in the world of golf, and one of the most coveted sporting events to attend in the USA. With the prestige of this tournament, you may be fretting about what to wear to such a symbolic sporting event. I am here to help.
We are huge golf lovers in this family. My grandparents played every day, we live on a golf course, and we watch The Masters every year as family. My dream was to attend The Masters in person, and we were fortunate enough to be able to do just that last year. It was a dream come true, and of course planning the outfits were part of the fun.

Masters Tournament Attire
Golf Attire

When you are thinking about what to wear The Masters, your mind of course goes to “golf attire” and while that is absolutely acceptable, and you will see a ton of golf attire, you don’t necessarily have to wear something you would play golf in.
I like to mix in golf attire with different pieces to elevate the look just a little bit. Bringing in some fun sneakers or some cute jewelry to jazz up the golf outfit a tad.

Spring Dresses
The Masters are always in April, so you will also see a ton of spring dresses walking around the course. This is probably my favorite Masters look. A cute dress can never fail. Some of my favorite websites to shop for a fun spring dress are Tuckernuck, Lulu’s, and Anthropologie.

Southern Style
The Masters Tournament takes place in Augusta, Georgia; in the heart of the Deep South. So southern fashion is in full force throughout the tournament. Think bright colors, floral prints, colorful pants and fun hats. You can get that southern look for The Masters at places like Lily Pulitzer, Emily McCarthy & Tuckernuck.

Masters Attire Tips
Weather
As I stated above, The Masters takes place in April in Augusta, Georgia. So with those two factors comes unpredictable weather. I can almost guarantee that it will rain at least one day of the tournament, so be sure to pack a raincoat, just in case. You don’t want those cute Masters outfits getting ruined by the weather.
It can also be quite humid and even hot in April in Augusta. Be sure to wear breathable fabric. You will be glad you have that when that Georgia humidity starts to crank up.
But on the other hand, it can also be chilly in April, so come prepared and pack a light jacket or sweater.
You can also choose to wear cute trousers or pants to the tournament if it that suits your style better, or if the weather is going to be cold. Here are some cute trouser and pant options for the Masters.
Master Attire Essentials
When trying to decide what are the must have essentials for the Masters, remember this: bring a watch and wear comfortable shoes.
You are not allowed to bring your phone to The Masters, so if you want to keep with the current time, you will want to wear a watch.
Also, if you only take one piece of advice from me, please take this: WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. You will be walking A LOT and the course is lot more difficult terrain than most people realize. We walked a ton last year because I was unsure if I would ever have the opportunity to see Augusta National again, so I wanted to see as much as I could.
You can also bring a small bag into the tournament and on practice rounds, you can take a camera in, just no recording devices or phones. On tournament days, there are no cameras allowed.
Also, sun protection is a must in the Georgia heat. Wear a baseball cap or wide brimmed hat, sunglasses and be sure to use sunscreen as well.
More Masters Tips
Arrive early: You will want to take in as much of Augusta National as you possibly can. This course is absolutely stunning. I am positive you will want to hit up the pro shop too for all of the Masters souvenirs.
During the practice rounds the course opens at 7:30 AM (Monday-Wednesday) The Par 3 Tournament on Wednesday begins at noon, but you will want to arrive before the Par 3 starts. All tournament dates (Thursday-Sunday), the course also opens at 7:30 AM.
The pro shop line will be LONG, so be prepared to wait. It will look way worse than it actually is though. They have it down to a science and keep it moving as quickly as they possibly can. It will look like a line at Walt Disney World. They only let so many in at a time, but the line is constantly moving.
Get the infamous pimento cheese sandwich, and you will be pleasantly surprised at the price of food and drinks at Augusta National.
You are allowed to take small bags in. They must be 10″ x 10″ x 12″ or smaller. They do not have to be clear bags.
You can also take a camera in on practice round days.
You can take small chairs or stools into the tournament. They must be collapsible, no arms or pointed edges.
Golf shoes with metal spikes are prohibited.

Regardless of what you wear, the Masters is truly a once in a lifetime experience for most. It will be one of the most memorable things you will ever attend. So take it all in, enjoy the experience, and eat a pimento cheese sandwich for me.
