If you have already noticed, we enjoyed a lot of adventures on our trip to Wyoming. On our way out of Yellowstone, we decided we weren’t quite ready to go home, so we took a day trip to Cody, Wyoming.
Cody is a hidden gem that not many people plan to visit, but I’m here to explain why you should. Below is a full review and list of activities we embarked on while passing through this beautiful city!

Cody, WY | Things To See
We started at Old Trail Town. A fun historical site where you can actually go into many of Wyoming’s historical figures’ cabins: like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid!
It’s as close to living in every Old West movie out there. The Bettis Family loves their adventures.

Later, we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Museum and learned more about the origins of Cody, Wyoming. Did you know that William F. Cody (“Buffalo Bill”) is responsible for laying out the original town site of Cody, and it was named in honor of him?
There are tons of museums to explore, along with the opportunity to get the most authentic, hands-on experience to live just as they did. From dining to petting raptors, this is the closest you can get to the Old West experience!
Cody, WY | Nite Rodeo
Where do I even begin? Cody Nite Rodeo is the longest and only nightly rodeo around: filled with bull riding, roping, barrel racing, and our personal favorite…RODEO CLOWNS!
It does not matter who you are; if you have never seen a man on a bull, you are really missing out! Check out the website for more on this crazy yet amazing experience.
Cody, WY | Shoshone National Park
We could stare at the views here all day!

If you know the Bettis’s, you know how much we value and love the outdoors. Shoshone National Park is a beautiful park full of wildlife, camping grounds, lakes, and backcountry. Because we only had a day to fit in multiple activities, we didn’t get the chance to explore all Shoshone National Park has to offer, but we learned a lot about the land.
Do you love history, hunting, camping, or mountain biking? If so, this is the place for you!
